Skin Care Tips

Simple Skin Care Tips for Healthier Skin

The state of your skin reflects a person’s health. It may not seem likely but remember that your skin is the body’s largest organ. If this organ is unhealthy then it is possible that you have imbalances in the rest of your body. Correcting the health of your skin will help to improve your overall physical health. These skin care tips go beyond recommending what skin care products to use. Cleansers, toners and moisturizers are only part of the story. An effective skin care regime includes the foods you eat and the things you do.

Basic Skin Care

Sun protection is probably one of the most important skin care tips you will ever hear. Sadly, it is also one of the most neglected skin care tips. People often forget to put on sunscreen because they cannot see the damage that is happening to their skin until it is too late. Sun protection should start as early as possible and is one of those things that you should not leave the house without. This advice even applies to people with darker complexions; darker skin is not any better protected from the sun’s damaging rays than fairer skin.

Moisturize

Moisturizing is also a very important part of having healthy skin. People with oily skin often neglect moisturizing thinking that they have too much oil already. However this is one of those skin care tips that applies to everyone. Moisturizing is important if you want to avoid wrinkles and have youthful skin twenty, thirty years down the line. If you have oily skin and are afraid f having the dreaded shine, just use an oil free moisturizer that will moisturize your skin without the greasy after feeling. Use a bath lotion after your bath or shower to maintain your skin’s ideal hydration levels.

Eating Right

The food you eat has a major impact on the way your skin looks and feels. In fact what you eat could be more important than the potions and lotions you put on your face. It may seem like diet would not be included in skin care tips but it could dramatically improve your skin’s health. Foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids are very good for your skin, these can be found in tuna, mackerel, salmon and sardines. Up your intake of antioxidant rich foods such as brightly colored fruits and vegetables to combat free radicals that cause ageing. Eat healthy and see the difference in your skin.
